A Crowded Bookshelf

Sweet Cakes by Melissa is a bakery in Gresham, Oregon that’s in the news because its owner – Aaron Klein – refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex wedding. According to the woman, Klein called the women “abominations to the Lord” – which he denies. He politely apologized and asserted that his bakery doesn’t “do same-sex marriages.”

Now, normally, I’d side with the bakery because most states do not cover sexual orientation in anti-discrimination laws. Now, when I say I’d “side with the bakery” I only mean that I would say they have the legal right to be idiotic bigots.

But here’s the catch – in Oregon, business cannot discriminate against LGBT. But it’s not that simple because his religious beliefs are covered under the Constitution. Obviously this is a bit of a clusterfuck.

Here’s my take – Aaron Klein is a moron. He’s hiding his bigotry behind…
